Norwich Open Christmas is looking for a dedicated and organised Transport Co-ordinator to lead the planning and delivery of guest transport for our annual Christmas Day celebration. This vital role ensures that guests, many of whom face mobility challenges or isolation, can join us safely and comfortably.
When you'll be needed
This is a seasonal role, most active from late October to 25th December, with a follow-up in early January. It’s ideal for someone who thrives in a busy, people-focused environment and enjoys solving logistical puzzles.
Most of the work can be completed from home, but you will need to be available on Christmas Day to join us at the King’s Centre.
What you'll be doing
In November, you'll reach out to guests who used transport last year to confirm if they need a lift again. This is also the time to coordinate with Norwich Door to Door and confirm trained drivers for our Disabled Person’s Vehicles (DPVs).
As Christmas approaches, you'll finalise pick-up lists and job sheets based on guests’ locations and needs, ensuring the DPV service is allocated appropriately. These GDPR-sensitive documents are distributed to drivers on 23rd or 24th December, just ahead of the big day.
On Christmas Day, you’ll oversee the transport desk at the NOC venue making sure drivers and assistants check in, have the right contact details, and return their completed worksheets after drop-offs.
In January, you’ll wrap up the season by sending heartfelt thank-you messages to all the drivers and assistants who made the day possible.
