Volunteer Applications Open for Norwich Open Christmas 2025
Norwich Open Christmas is calling on kind-hearted individuals to sign up as volunteers for its 2025 event, taking place once again at The King’s Centre on Christmas Day.
For over three decades, Norwich Open Christmas has provided a warm, welcoming celebration for people in the city and surrounding areas who are alone, homeless, or in need during the festive season. None of it would be possible without the hundreds of volunteers who generously give their time to support the event.
Applications are now open for anyone who would like to help make this year’s event a success. Roles are available in a wide range of areas, from welcoming guests and serving food to sorting donations, helping with transport, entertainment, kitchen work, and more.
No experience is necessary – just a willingness to help, a friendly attitude, and availability on or around Christmas Day.
Bill Ashton, Chairman of Norwich Open Christmas, said:
“Our volunteers are the heart of this event. Whether it’s your first time or you’ve been with us for years, every single volunteer makes a real difference. This isn’t just about giving, it’s about being part of something meaningful at a time when many people need support, connection and kindness.”
Support from lead volunteers is available throughout your shift and on Christmas Day itself, and volunteers can choose from a range of roles and time slots to suit their availability.
The event will once again be held at The King’s Centre in Norwich, a venue that proved ideal in 2024, with excellent kitchen and dining facilities, room for accessible transport links, and plenty of space for guests and volunteers alike.
If you’d like to make someone’s Christmas brighter this year, visit Sign up - Norwich Open Christmas to find out more and apply. Applications to be become a volunteer close on 31 October 2025.
