We Need Your Help: Norwich Open Christmas Faces Unprecedented Shortfall
This Christmas, Norwich Open Christmas is facing one of the most challenging years in its history. For decades, we’ve opened our doors to provide a hot meal, food bags, and a sense of community to those who might otherwise spend the festive season alone. But this year, continued economic uncertainty has hit hard, and many of our regular donors simply can’t help.
That means we’re facing a significant shortfall in the supplies we need to make Christmas special for hundreds of guests. Not only do we need food donations, but for the first time in years, we expect to buy warm clothing to make up for the lack of contributions. Every penny counts, and without urgent support, we risk falling short of our goal to ensure no one feels forgotten this Christmas.

“We’ve never faced a situation like this before. Year on year, donations have been falling, and with continued economic uncertainty, the impact on our ability to provide everything our guests need for Norwich Open Christmas 2025 is profound. Many of our usual partners simply don’t have the capacity to help this year, so we’re turning to the wider community for urgent support. Every extra penny helps us provide a food bag for someone who might otherwise go hungry - and this year, we may even need to purchase clothing to make up for the shortfall. Any contribution, big or small, will make a real difference.”
